News: German-French media prize 2017 goes to SOS MEDITERRANEE

The European rescue organization SOS MEDITERRANEE receives the Grand German-French Media Prize 2017.

The prize was created 1983 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty between Germany and France. It is awarded every year by the members of the German-French journalist prize.

According to the President of the German-French journalist prize, professor Thomas Kleist, SOS MEDITERRANEE essentially contributes to the tackling of the so-called refugee crisis. „SOS MEDITERRANEE is on the spot when others turn their back on it”, explains Kleist.

Recent award winner have been, amongst others, Simone Veil, Volker Schlöndorff, Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, Helmut Schmidt, Alfred Grosser, Jean Asselborn and the cartoonist Plantu.

The award ceremony will take place on 4th July in Paris. For more info in German and French visit: http://dfjp.eu/Plone/aktuell.
